Description: The Florida Wildlife Corridor is composed of Priorities 1, 2, & 3 of the Florida Ecological Greenways Network which is used to promote the need for a statewide network of ecologically significant land. Priorities 1-3 are deemed the most important lands to protect in order to create a network of connected public and private conservation lands essential for protecting the biodiversity of native species and water resources. The FWC is part of Florida law (2021) aimed at protecting these lands through planning and funding. The FWC and EGN are used by Florida Forever and other government land acquisition programs to determine the areas most necessary for preservation of the state's biodiversity.
